Employee Ownership Conference in UK

Executive Director

The Employee Ownership Association of the United Kingdom held its annual conference on December 3 and 4, with nearly 700 participants. The conference celebrated the many successes of employee ownership in the UK, including the dramatic rise in the number of employee-owned companies resulting from the 2014 legislation incentivizing employee ownership trusts. One analysis of the sector, by the White Rose Centre at Durham University, finds that the UK currently has about 300 employee-owned firms employing 154,000 people.
