Greensboro Mayor Welcomes Publix

Publix Supermarkets, number 1 on the NCEO's list of the 100 largest employee-owned companies in the US, is considering opening a distribution center in Greensboro, North Carolina, and the mayor hopes they do. Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan was quoted in The Greensboro News and Record, saying, "These are high-quality jobs that will pay above the median income. . . . Publix is an employee-owned store and I think that's very important. They invest in their employees."
