Designing Effective Executive Compensation Programs for ESOP Companies

Dave Horvath joined Prairie Capital Advisors in 2023. He is an experienced ESOP professional, having advised privately-held and publicly-traded companies on compensation, employee benefits and ownership transition matters for more than 30 years. Dave has assisted clients in establishing and administering qualified employee benefit plans of all types including ESOP,s, 401(k),s and pension plans. He has counseled clients on executive compensation matters including salary studies and implementing non-qualified deferred compensation plans. He has provided due diligence analysis of employee benefit matters for numerous transactions involving private equity and family offices. Dave also works with boards of directors, trustees and companies on mature ESOP consulting and sustainability. He is a member of AICPA and the IL CPA Society. He is also a past chair of Members Retirement Committee“ AICPA.  Dave has written and presented on ESOP topics, compensation and employee benefit matters for the AICPA, The ESOP Association and the National Center for Employee Ownership.

Shaun McGehee is a director at Prairie Capital Advisors, Inc and works directly with privately held companies to provide expert financial advisory and strategic ownership transition services. As a director, Shaun is responsible for providing project management services, corporate valuations, and related transaction analyses in support of capital structuring engagements, including ESOP implementation, leveraged recapitalizations, management buyouts (MBO), mergers and acquisitions, fairness opinions, and other related corporate finance purposes.
