2024 is shaping up to be potentially a very important year for employee ownership legislation at the federal and state level. Congress will need to decide whether to fund the WORK Act, momentum is building for the Employee Equity Investment Act, and state laws in Tennessee and Washington require funding. Other important legislative initiatives are being developed, but the ones described here have the best immediate prospects.
